Pioneering hospitality brand Locke to bring its unique hybrid apartment-meets-hotel concept to Dublin with two new openings.

Today, forward-thinking hospitality brand Locke announced it will open two quayside locations in Dublin City Centre as it enters the first stage of its European expansion: Zanzibar Locke (160 apartments), opening January 2021; and Beckett Locke (241 apartments), opening February 2021.

With  four  existing  locations  in  the  UK,  Locke  is  leading  the  way  in  creating  a  new  type  of  hotel  that  combines the space and comforts of home with the experience and thoughtful design of a boutique hotel. Each self-contained apartment is designed to be lived in, featuring fully fitted kitchens (complete with dishwashers and washer/dryers), as well living and dining areas. This means that whether guests intend to stay for one night or one month, they have the space and flexibility to live autonomously and continue their day-to-day.

We are delighted to bring Locke to the thriving, vibrant city of Dublin,  which will mark the next step in the brand’s evolution.  Our vision is to create inclusive, beautifully designed sanctuaries  where guests and locals alike are empowered to stay, live and work on their own terms. It is this sensitivity to choice that has proved to be one of our greatest strengths to date.

Stephen McCall, Chief Executive Officer.

Community  and  locally led partnerships are at the heart of Locke’s social experience. Both  Zanzibar  Locke and Beckett Locke will feature complimentary co-working spaces for locals to enjoy; original food and  beverage  concepts conceived  and operated  by local  industry  leaders;  a  Creative in Residence programme showcasing up  -and-coming Dublin-based talent; on-property wellness and fitness spaces; plus an extensive cultural program ranging from weekly yoga sessions to supper clubs. For visitors keen to ‘live like a local’, each Locke is staffed with team of local ‘House Hosts’ who are on hand to provide unscripted knowledge of the surrounding neighbourhood.

Supporting and spotlighting up-and-coming talent and businesses is a priority. Beckett Locke and Zanzibar Locke will have their own personalities - which is most evident in their distinctive design - though they will be united in their ability to empower guests to experience Dublin on their own terms, and commitment to the local community.

Osgur Ó Ciardha, Country General Manager, Locke.

As the hospitality industry emerges from Covid-19, Locke’s business model has demonstrated resilience and continues  to thrive  among its broad base of business and leisure travel guests. Its locations in London and Manchester were able to remain open throughout lockdown as a safe space for long-term residents and key workers, with its average length of stay increasing from eleven nights to forty nights. In the wake of the pandemic, travelers are expected to move less frequently and for longer periods of time, putting Locke in a prime position as an alternative to the confines of a traditional hotel.

Situated behind a Georgian Façade across from the Ha′Penny bridge, on the site of the former Zanzibar night club, Zanzibar Locke is available for bookings now for January 2021. Located behind the 3Arena in the heart of the docklands, Beckett Locke is available for bookings now for February 2021. Opening rates from €99 for a 23sqm Studio.
