My Dublin: St Patrick's Day 2024 special.

My Dublin: St Patrick's Day 2024 special.

We headed over to the Emerald Isle ahead of St Patrick’s Day to explore some of Dublin’s best locations for pre and post St Patrick Day.

Home to two Locke locations, Beckett Locke and Zanzibar Locke, Dublin is one of our favourite cities to spend time in. Friendly, lively and brimming with history, there’s a bunch of sites to tick off. From Temple Bar’s Irish pubs, to Merrion Square and St Stephens Green.

With St Patrick’s Day on the way we spent some time with our House Hosts, Amy and Mireu who showed us some spots around the city for a pre–St Patrick’s Day coffee and post-Paddy's Day, hangover brunch.

A spot for a St Patrick’s Day pint.

Grogans, South William Street.

South William Street has such a good vibe around it. Now it's become a pedestrianised street. It's full of different bars and pubs. Grogans being a staple. Nothing beats sipping a Guinness in their outdoor seating area surrounded by good vibes and good people. Sitting back and people watching whilst enjoying the atmosphere, as everyone is always in good spirits.

A spot for a post-St Patrick’s Day hungover brunch.

Jay Kay’s Cafe, Millenium Walkway.

Jay Kay’s is right next to Zanzibar Locke. It's a cute and delicious café for breakfast or lunch with so many options on the menu. It’s also an Irish-owned business which we love to support. Alongside that the staff are so kind, we always send our guests here, and they love it too.

A spot for some greenery in the city.

St Stephens Green.

St Stephens Green is a lovely, Central Park to go for a stroll in. Filled with ducks and swans, I love to find a bench by the lake during my break. There are loads of different spots to sit down are enjoying the greenery. I tend to grab a coffee, go for a walk around the park, find a nice spot to sit in the journal or read while listening to music on a nice sunny day. There are some nice-hidden spots you can enjoy on your own in the park alongside a playground for kids. I’ve brought my nieces a few times to feed the ducks and let them play in the playground.

Best Guinness in the city (in your opinion).

Cobblestone Pub, Smithfield

Firstly, Guinness in Ireland is better than any other country, so it’s hard to narrow it down to one pub, but I think The Cobblestone is such a cute and cosy pub with the best Irish vibes. They do traditional live Irish music seven days a week. Alongside this, the staff tell old Irish stories and are super kind. All these factors add to the experience.

Best spot for a pre–St Patrick’s Day coffee.

POG, Bachelors Walk.

POG not only do great coffee, tea, matcha and juices but also are home to some of Dublin’s most famous pancakes. It's the perfect spot to catch up with friends or have some downtime in the busy city.

Zanzibar Locke, Ha’penny Bridge.

Feel at home at Zanzibar Locke boutique aparthotel in Dublin. Made up of four grand Georgian townhouses, now 160 design-led apartments, each have their own kitchen and living space.
